Professional Experience
Forest has over 40 years of fire service experience and is currently the Fire Chief in Tinley Park, Illinois. He is the author of the weekly drill feature for the Firefighter Close Calls and Fire Engineering websites.
Forest has instructed at the Fire Department Instructors Conference for over 18 years. He also trains fire service personnel locally and national on safety, officer development, and general fire service training topics.
Education and Training
Forest earned a Master’s Degree in Public Safety Administration from Lewis University.
Committees and Professional Organizations
Forest has served on the Board of Directors of the International Society of Fire Service Instructors (ISFSI) and worked on many of the courses and curriculums delivered by the ISFSI.
Awards and Accomplishments
Forest was awarded the ISFSI George D. Post Instructor of the Year award at the 2008 Fire Department Instructors Conference.
Published Works
Forest is the co-author of Fire Service Instructor, Principles and Practices, 2nd edition published by Jones and Bartlett Learning.
